Mr. Howard Knepper, started this foundation for his passion of animal care. His late mother and step-father, the Zolins, dedicated their entire life to educate and to try to prevent and stop animal abuse. That is how this foundation was created, for the protection of animals.
Howard grew up in Waynesville, living in Auburn
Park in the 70’s, he owned three horses that were kept at a private farm. On April 11, 2026 The Mountaineer ran an article regarding two beautiful horses that lost their lives due to a situation that may have been preventable.
Mr. Knepper understands how this can occur
because some people can have set backs in their lives both personally and financially. He also recognize that owning horses can get very
expensive between feed & vet bills. Some people
that willfully cause neglect that results in the
death on an animal should be held accountable
under the law.
He strongly support any citizen that believes they think that any animal is being
abused or neglected . He encourages them to stand up for this animal and contact the Haywood County Animal Shelter, the Commissioners, County Manager, & any animal protection organizations, and Knepper/Zolin Foundation. For more information call (828)283-9225 , 24/7!
